Day 3 (1/8/2013)
On Day three they continued working on the upstairs part of the house with most of the work on 1939 part. We (or I should say Brian) knew that behind the Sheetrock in the 1939 house would be Ship Lap - I had no idea how cool it would look once exposed.
The Ship Lap was every where... even on the ceilings! What will be our master bedroom almost looks like a log cabin:
Then there was also Ship Lap in the landing for the original 1939 staircase. This will no longer be a landing - but a part of my "alcove/desk area".
Check out the old wall paper at top of the wall:
This will be the master closet... yeah for having a big closet in an OLD house! :)
They also finished on the Bathroom I showed you on Day 2 which now looks totally different... unless you knew it was a bathroom before... now you cannot tell:
Lots of demolition going on at the house....
Day 4 (1/9/2013)
On Day 4, after work I went over to the house... besides a quick walk through on Sunday after they had started, I really had not had the opportunity to go by the house because by time I get off work it is dark and therefore no ability to really see anything (plus - let's be honest after a long day at work, I am ready to get home to Miss E!). Luckily, Brian has had the opportunity to go by and check on things daily and take a ton of pics and report back on progress. This project would not be where it is without Brian - who is so on top of every detail and has spent countless hours getting the project off the ground. Lots of progress had been made since they got started and it was very cool to see.
However, Brian didn't have the "real" camera and by time we started taking pics.... it was already too dark. Unfortunately, looks like a lot of the Ship Lap that we wanted to keep is so old and britle that when removed from the wall - it cracks in half, which likely means we cannot use it... because so much of the house is being redone, we are required to bring all electrical outlets up to code... and as such, the bottom piece would have to be removed for outlets and then placed back on the wall. Boo.
Here are a few pics of things going on at the house:
Day 5 and 6 coming up!
