Which looks better... before and after -- Day 2 (1/7/2013)

Day 2 included more ripping out of the old (Sheetrock, HVAC, built-ins, etc.) in the 1980 portion of the house.

We were very curious what we would find behind the walls and didn't know if there would be any of "worst case scenarios" like you always see on HGTV. So far, besides one wall in the kitchen facing the court yard (Brian could tell you directionally what wall it is - but for me - just the one facing the court yard)... there is significant damage, but we knew about that one from fixing the foundation and those issues, all and all though everything else that has been exposed looks pretty good. Let's hope it stays this way!!

In the kitchen they continue to expose more and we now could tell what kind of storage space we had available under the stairs:

This is a picture of the powder room...

Looks a lot better than this - huh?

The bookshelves in the hallway were taken out and now it is looks so much more open, here is a picture of the hallway before:

And here is what it now looks like (taken from around the same view point - which will be looking from the new master bedroom down the hall to Emma's bedroom). On the left hand side will be a guest bedroom/bath:

And finally, the removing of this beautiful bathroom:

Which now looks like this....

Check back for pics of Day 3!

One thing that I did was keep a little bit of the wall paper that was found under all the layers...the contractors saved me a piece...it was their idea!
