So after many, many months of debating what to do, quite a few revisions to the plans, debate about selling the property, we finally decided to move forward and less than 2 weeks ago - this went up:
I cannot even begin to explain how I felt when I finally saw a fence up at the house. After a year of trying to figure it out, were we really going to proceed with the renovation on this OLD house.
These are the pics from DAY 1 of demo at the house:
Day 1 (January 5, 2013):
Wood comes in to protect the "original" hard wood floors in the 1939 house which will be sanded and kept:
Walls come down in the kitchen and we expose the original brick behind the wall where the addition was added on:
More walls down on the first floor in what will be our play room (floor boards had already been removed about 6 months ago when we fixed the foundation of the house):
And the center court yard becomes filled with all things being ripped out:
