Everything is starting to come together and our house is slowly becoming our home. Since Friday things have been busy over at the house.... Making progress on the hardwood floors, electrical outlets are in and our plumbing fixtures arrived!!!!!! The pics below are from a few different stops at the house this weekend and you can see how quickly they are progressing! I went and picked up our exterior lights on Friday and we also we ordered all the tile for our master bathroom - which was the only tile still outstanding. That will be another exciting milestone to see! I guess really all the finish work is going to be exciting and really change everything... Plus hopefully we will continue to stay on track!!
Here is what I saw when I walked in after work on Friday... Taking out all the problem areas in the original 1939 portion of the house.
Salvage wood from what is now our master bathroom, which will fill in some of the areas:
A view from above (opening on second floor):
In the kitchen getting ready to lay new floors... We matched the wood from the original house so that it will all flow -- you can also see the light switches and electrical outlets in this pic:
Progress on the outside wall of kitchen:
Came back with Brian and E a few hours later and all the boards were laid out in the kitchen:
Outlets in the kitchen:
And our bedroom:
The view from above looked much better by the end if the day on Friday:
Not sure how E knows - but in the bathrooms she knows the big pipes are for our new "pottys" - in any case she sat down and acted like she was testing it out!
She also approved of the floors and cleaned up a bit:
Saturday afternoon I went by the house and the kitchen was done...
And the boards in the playroom/den were all laid out:
The front entry way was filled in with the salvage wood... This was where the original staircase was:
And then Saturday night on our way out we went by and checked out what had been done... The playroom/den was now done too:
And one looking at the back of the house:
Also, as I mentioned above, our plumbing fixtures arrived.... Shout out to Unc who we got them from for so promptly placing the order and shipping to Houston from Cleveland. We appreciate your help!!
Lots of fixtures needed in the master bathroom:
Our sink faucet:
And the secondary bathroom faucets:
Love all the faucets and am very happy with our selections! Things to accomplish this week.... Finalize paint selections, find slabs of marble/granite... Pick out knobs and handles and confirm carpet color... Eek! My kitchen sink is being delivered this week and I am so excited about it! Let's just hope my vision looks right when all put together since I am our interior designer... Yikes! Have a great rest of the day!

E is one smart cookie! Obviously, she gets that from her parents.
ReplyDeleteThe floors and the fixtures look great. It's so nice that you were able to salvage some of the old wood floors and bring a similar look to the other rooms.
