Not a lot of Updates to Update

Unfortunately, my lack of posting is not because I have been busy... Which I have, but never too busy for a brief blog update. However, the last few weeks have basically been at a stand still. The cabinets were supposed to be finished last week, but that still is not the case.  :/ 

Hopefully this week the marble/ granite will be installed and painting will begin... And plumbing fixtures and everything else that is still outstanding (hard wood staining, carpet, light fixtures, punch list, etc.) 

Our townhouse is under contract and luckily we have a lease back through July 22nd... But we are not even sure we will be in by then - ugh. We were supposed to be in by E's second birthday - which is Friday. Obviously, we will not be moving then.

I am so ready!!!

Not many, but here are a few things that have happened.

I also found a new light fixture for the entry opening... Sort of hard to see in these pictures, but I walked into a store, saw it and immediately knew it was perfect for the house, so I called the lighting store where I had ordered original from and luckily, they let me return since we haven't yet picked up -- I forgot to take a picture before we purchased and now wrapped up, but here are 2 pics of it:

Finally today we went to scope out some pieces of furniture at Restoration Hardware... As we were getting ready to leave, we rode down the elevator with one of the managers, who began to help us and offer some really great advice, and then introduced us to the senior designer... He was so helpful and offered so many great ideas.  I was so appreciative and cannot wait to slowly furnish our home with his ideas!!! 

Hopefully, this week we will get back on track and I will have some pics to share! 

And they are in...

The majority of the cabinets are now in their place and installed... Still some ways to go, but almost done... Now they can make the template to cut and finish the granite and marble - which I cannot wait to see.  Hopefully, paint, plumbing, lighting and everything else will go fast and we will be in soon. Everything with renovating seems to take forever - but we have come a really long ways.

Hopefully all the trim for built ins gets finished this weekend and we will be one step closer!!! Until more updates...

Oh Happy Day... We have cabinets!!

While waiting on the cabinets, they have been doing odds and ends to keep it moving. They primed the house over the past 2 days... And this morning, the cabinets were delivered and now will be finished and installed at the house.  Finally, starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and realizing around this time next month, we will be in the house! Cannot believe it. 

Here are some pics of them priming all the wood. The smell was awful, so I didn't take many pics, as I just needed to get out of house!!

Day 2, all the painters were gone, so I went in and took a few pics - mud room lockers now primed:

And today... We have cabinets. None are installed yet, but here are a few pics of them...

Living room - my favorite, everyone thought I was crazy, but I wanted the "x"s and I love the way it looks!!! Perfect!!

Also, finally ordered the door knobs today... Did a mixture of crystal and polished chrome. Here is a picture of the crystal ones I did:

I love the crystal knobs and these compliment the original ones - plus the chrome are really pretty too. Think this is the final detail I still had to order for the renovation.

Brian and I also managed to finalize paint selections... This was a bit stressful because you just don't know what the color will actually look like in the house. Hopefully, we love what we selected. 

I know this has been a long time coming, but to finally get to this point makes me so happy... Not to mention, I love seeing it all come together and looking like my vision! 

Cooling it down...

Sorry for the slow down of posts... The small details are getting done, but not a whole lot of pictures. Paint is coming soon... So there will be plenty with that. 

Yesterday they reconnected the electricity to the house... It was switched to "temporary" when we started the renovation process. In any case Centerpoint has been out and it is all set up!

And today... We got probably the most important thing for living in the Texas heat... Our 2 a/c units!

And they also put the vents in the rooms:

That's about it... A week more for cabinets... And likely starting paint soon. Hopefully just over a month until we are in the new place. Cannot believe it!
