Slowly but surely they have been making progress on the house... But a lot of the things going on right now are not picture worthy... Because let's be honest a new wire pulled and added to the bunch really doesn't look any different to anyone. But that also means little content for the blog!!
So what has been going on, we passed our electrical inspection... the exterior of house was painted (shutters, front door and front door casing still need to be painted), gutters were put up, exterior doors installed, framing details finished up (ship lap in front of house repaired and replaced), alarm system wired and surround sound put in...who needs walls - we could move in now right - after all, we have plumbing, hvac and electrical done and E loves the pink wood!! This was actually not my idea... but Brian recently suggested it... Just kidding - but looking like we are still on track for summer move in!! Let's hope everything continues to move forward.
Yesterday they were supposed to seal the house and insulation coming up the rest of the week and then dry wall hopefully next week... then things will really look different and there will be lots of new pictures for the blog. I cannot wait to see what it looks like as it as the walls go in!!
Here are some pictures of the house painted... shutters still need to be painted and will likely be a dark dark green... the casing around the door has not be finished or painted, but here is what it looks like so far:
Back of the house painted:
Courtyard - love how the windows and new roof look too:
And the gutters are up... just in time for the big storm we had in Houston the other night.
For now, I think I have covered all the updates.... like I said some of the stuff going on now is not nearly as interesting or photo worthy so I haven't had a ton of content to write about - but fear not, when I do, I will keep you posted on the blog!

Good thing you have your roof gutters installed just in time before the next storm came. Had it not been the case, the water would've made you suffer through a huge problem. I love how the house is becoming, by the way. Ashlee Starns
ReplyDeleteI must say that you have a pretty neat house there my friend. I agree with Ashlee. Gutters serve as a way to flow water from your roof to the ground. And having a broken gutter or none at all would have given you more problems. I also like your windows and roof. Just make sure to have regular checkups on some places of your house to see if some repairs need to be done.

Indeed, gutters are needed when a storm or the rainy seasons come. The whole aesthetic of the house was nicely given a style whilst retaining its sturdiness against unfavorable weather. How's your place now? If in the case of recurring problems, you can seek professional help to get your house back to a 100%.
